Why don't we receive weekly emails like in 6th grade?
We truly believe that seventh graders must be held accountable and responsible for their education. We are the stepping stone to eight grade and beyond, so we hold our kids to high standards in and out of the classroom, which includes communication.
That being said, if you ever want to reach out, please feel free to text, email, or call. We are always available for you or the kids. Their success is our first priority.
What can I do to make my pilot successful?
The old adage is true; it really does take a village! To achieve this, parent teacher contact is paramount. Please text, email, or call if your student needs anything. Open lines of communication are key to our kids doing well! We love when parents reach out and want additional information about their kids.
How can I get in contact with my pilot's teachers?
The best and fastest way to reach us is through our Remind apps. Each teacher has their own codes and can be reached through the app via text. This goes to our phones and we can respond to you directly and quickly.
If you prefer email, we will be happy to respond as soon as we can, but please keep in mind that our laptops are usually off at night and we are happily teaching our kids during the day. It may be up to 24 hours until we are able to respond formally.
My pilot needs a little extra help. Is there a way to get one on one time with the teacher?
We are always here to help! Your seventh grade teachers are here for help at lunch (when a student asks, signs up, and comes to get a pass) and through Wednesday Academy.
All of your teachers make themselves available every Wednesday from 3-415 to work one on one with students. To attend Wednesday Academy, all you need to do is have a guardian fill out a permission slip and submit it no later than Tuesday afternoon.
My pilot is missing work, what can they do to make it up?
All missing work is subject to the Pine Hollow policy found in your agenda.
If a student is missing a minor or major, they can attend Wednesday Academy to make their work up with a teacher.

My pilot needs to retake a Major! What do we do?
In order to retake a major, students must not have any missing work within the unit.
Students may also be asked to complete test corrections in order to be eligible to retake.
All retakes take place after school at Wednesday Academy.

How can I see my pilot's grades/what they are missing in class?
Power School is our best friend!
If there is a 0 in the place of a grade it means that your student did not hand in or complete the assignment. If there is a blank in place of a grade it means that the teacher has not yet entered that grade. Teachers update grades once a week, but if you have any questions about grades, please do not hesitate to text, email, or call.
My pilot is going to miss some days of school, how do we get the material we'll miss?
We are happy to provide work in advance, given a couple days notice.
We also have websites/Google Classrooms available that will house the day by day or week by week instructional activities.
If you have any questions on an activity or instruction, please don't hesitate to text, email, or call.
